There is a protocol that needs to be followed when we engage with those in authority. They usually intrinsically need respect and will be turned off when they feel disrespected. Authority is the power or right to give orders, make decisions, and enforce obedience. This means that when we are under someone’s authority we need to obey their instructions, submit to their decisions and respect their boundaries. Mankind has been given authority over and in the Earth.
“Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion;”
Genesis 1 v 26
The heaven, even the heavens, are the Lord’s / Ahayah’s; But the earth He has given to the children of men.
Psalm 115v16
A person who has authority can delegate some of that authority to others. The Almighty did that when he made the earth and mankind. That means man was given the right to rule, control and make decisions in the Earth.
Adam was the first man after the likeness of The Almighty and he was allowed to name the creatures as the one in Authority in the Earth.
Moses was chosen to lead Israel and he was allowed to choose men to help him, to whom he delegated some of his authority.
But select capable men from all the people—men who fear God/The Almighty, trustworthy men who hate dishonest gain—and appoint them as officials over thousands, hundreds, fifties and tens. 22 Have them serve as judges for the people at all times, but have them bring every difficult case to you; the simple cases they can decide themselves. That will make your load lighter, because they will share it with you. 23 If you do this and God/The Most high so commands, you will be able to stand the strain, and all these people will go home satisfied.”
24 Moses listened to his father-in-law and did everything he said. 25 He chose capable men from all Israel and made them leaders of the people, officials over thousands, hundreds, fifties and tens.
exodus 18 v 21 – 25
The Most high established divine order in the family as well by putting the man in authority over the woman. Authority is given to govern and is not dependent on agreement. Without authority and government there is anarchy and chaos.
But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ/Mashyach; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ/Mashyach is God/Elohim.
1 cor 11 v 3
Righteous Authority is established from the top down and is given by The Most high. Those who rebel against righteous authority can do so of their own free will, however they will loose the protection of the covering of the one in authority.
Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God/The Almighty has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. 2 Consequently, whoever rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God/The Almighty has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves. 3 For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority? Then do what is right and you will be commended. 4 For the one in authority is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for rulers do not bear the sword for no reason
Romans 13 v 1
Delegated authority by those who The Almighty appoints represent Him
Respect is to be given to whom it is due, for our own good.
Therefore, it is necessary to submit to the authorities, not only because of possible punishment but also as a matter of conscience.
6 This is also why you pay taxes, for the authorities are God’s servants, who give their full time to governing. 7 Give to everyone what you owe them: If you owe taxes, pay taxes; if revenue, then revenue; if respect, then respect; if honor, then honor.
romans 13 v 5-7
Good government is beneficial to us when we submit to it. Notice that The Almighty does not lead us unless we come into covenant with Him and agree to it. Then we also can choose to obey or disobey after we have made covenant.
See, I set before you today life and prosperity, death and destruction. 16 For I command you today to love the Lord/ Almighty your God/Elohim, to walk in obedience to him, and to keep his commands, decrees and laws; then you will live and increase, and the Lord/Almighty your God/Elohim will bless you in the land you are entering to possess.
deut 30 v 15-20
People in authority are wired to need respect from those they lead. They have been gifted with the authority to bless or curse, their words matter and because of this, they carry more weight in the spirit realm than other people. This is why the enemy always sought to kill the men or the King. Once the King was taken the kingdom could be conquered. Fathers were told to bless their children and whatever they said would come to pass. They had the final say about those in their household.
When a young woman still living in her father’s household makes a vow to the Lord/Ahayah or obligates herself by a pledge 4 and her father hears about her vow or pledge but says nothing to her, then all her vows and every pledge by which she obligated herself will stand. 5 But if her father forbids her when he hears about it, none of her vows or the pledges by which she obligated herself will stand; the Lord/Almighty will release her because her father has forbidden her.

Those in authority are like priests, they represent those under their authority. So it is in our best interest to honor, respect and submit to them as long as they are living a set apart life and obeying The Most High. We are also asked to pray for them .
First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly/righteous and dignified in every way.
1 Timothy 2 v 1-4
Authority is usually put in place by The Most High
Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God/Elohim, and those that exist have been instituted by God/Elohim.
Romans 13 v 1
We should always appeal to The Most high when we have problems with those in authority and not try to confront them before we pray and ask The Father, unless we do so respectfully and with understanding.
The king’s heart is a stream of water in the hand of the Lord/Almighty; he turns it wherever he will.
Proverbs 21 v 1
Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honor unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered.
1 Peter 3 v 7
Fathers do not provoke your children to wrath; instead, bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord/ Ahayah.
Ephesians 6
The Most high uses those in authority to carry out His will. He punishes them when they do not treat those under their authority well if they are not in rebellion.
When we oppose authority that He has put in place, He takes it personally and sees it as rebellion..
For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together.
collossians 1 v 16-17
If any man has a stubborn and rebellious son who will not obey his father or his mother, and when they chastise him, he will not even listen to them, then his father and mother shall seize him, and bring him out to the elders of his city at the gateway of his hometown. They shall say to the elders of his city, ‘This son of ours is stubborn and rebellious, he will not obey us, he is a glutton and a drunkard. Then all the men of his town are to stone him to death. You must purge the evil from among you.
Deut. 21 v 18-21
Rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft
For rebellion is like the sin of divination, and arrogance like the evil of idolatry. Because you have rejected the word of the LORD/Almighty, he has rejected you as king.”
1 samuel 15 v 23
So The Most high does not tolerate rebellion. He expects to be obeyed. He rejected Saul as king because he disobeyed His instructions. He values submission and so does those in authority. We are told to obey our parents who are the first people in authority in our lives. This commandment comes with a promise of long life. The Most high will make our lives difficult when we are rebellious.
Children, obey your parents in the Lord / Ahayah, for this is right. 2 “Honor your father and mother” (which is the first commandment with a promise), 3 “that it may go well with you and that you may have a long life on the earth.”
Ephesians 6 v 1
When we get along with those in authority and work with them, then we are blessed and favored by The Most High. He will deal with us harshly when we disrespect and rebel against those he has put in authority.
Miriam and Aaron rebelled against Moses on account of the Cushite woman that he had married. 2 They asked, “Has the Lord/Ahayah spoken only through Moses? Hasn’t he also spoken through us?”
numbers 12 v 1
They came as a group to speak against Moses and Aaron and said, “You have gone too far—you are wrong! All the Israelites are holy—the LORD still lives among them. You are making yourselves more important than the rest of the still lives among them. You are making yourselves more important than the rest of the LORD’s people.” When Moses heard this, he bowed his face to the ground to show he was not being proud.
numbers 16 v 1
It is very common for those under authority to think that they can do a similar and better job. The Most high is usually very specific about those he calls and appoints. When he was building the temple he only allowed those selected for particular tasks to perform them.
Aaron’s sons Nadab and Abihu took their censers, put fire in them and added incense; and they offered unauthorized fire before the Lord/Almighty, contrary to his command. 2 So fire came out from the presence of the Lord/Ahayah and consumed them, and they died before the Lord.
leviticus 10 v 1-2
Appointment matters
The Most High must appoint those in leadership, and when he does they are under His authority and protection. He had appointed Saul to be King and until He removed Him he had His authority. This is why David refused to kill Saul.
Yet, David spared Saul’s life, because he did not have any right to kill the Lord’s anointed (vv. 3–6). David knew that the kingdom had been given to him by the Lord (16:1–13); however, he knew also that the throne had to come to him in God’s appointed timing. He was not permitted to take it by force.
1 samuel 24
David understood the importance of allowing The most high to put him in position in His time and not seeking it in his own way.
When the temple was built there was an assignment for everyone. There was something for everyone to do, but The Most High was the one that decided who did what. We must remember that He is the Creator of us all and he knows what abilities and talents each person possesses and what they are suited for. It is an insult to think we know more than He does.
He gave him instructions for the divisions of the priests and Levites, and for all the work of serving in the temple of the LORD/ Almighty as well as for all the articles to be used in its service.14
1 chronicles 28
The divisions of the priests and Levites are ready for all the work on the temple of God, and every willing man skilled in any craft will help you in all the work. The officials and all the people will obey your every command.”
1 chronicles 28
Paul, a servant of Christ Jesus/ Yahsya Hamashyach, called to be an apostle and set apart for the gospel of God/ Elohim.—
Romans 1
Even in marriage and lineage His appointment matters. He refused to use Ishmael because he wanted Isaac who would be born from Sarah not Hagar. He also chose Jacob over Esau before he was born
Aligning ourselves with the proper authority will bring favor and blessing in our lives.
Most Times an unequal yoke means problems with authority
So because the head of the woman is the man, if that man is not submitted to The Most High /The Messiah then his head is the devil. A woman who is seeking to serve The Most high will therefore find it difficult to submit to him and The Most high at the same time.
When we allow The Most High to help us with our choice of spouse or anyone in authority then He usually ensures that the person will submit to Him. This only happens however if we are ourselves are very submitted to him and not trying to pressure Him into making a decision. Israel got Saul as king to teach them a lesson.
David was really The Father’s best choice.
